About

Who am I?

My name is Tom Fazio.  I am the owner and operator of Personal Trainer Hong Kong, a martial arts and fitness personal training business based in Hong Kong China.  I have been practicing martial arts for over 20 years, including a variety of disciplines under master instructors around the world.  And I love to kick.

Why did I start KickFit Holistic?

In the last few years I have had the great pleasure of training a widely diverse client base of men and women of all ages, nationalities, and fitness levels .  And I have watched closely the progress of my martial arts clients, as well as taken to heart many of their comments on how kicking has improved more than just martial arts technique, but has improved posture, balance, strength, and confidence in themselves in a very short period of time.  And quite frankly, I love martial arts, and I love kicking, and I’d like to be able to share what I do with more people.  And while my time is limited with private personal training clients, I thought this would be a good way to share what I love with others who have a similar passion for using their bodies in new dynamic ways  and taking their fitness to new heights.

Furthermore, with the addition of sound nutrition and meditation, I believe kicking can provide a complete approach to mind and body fitness and health.

What is fitness kicking?

Fitness kicking is the application of tried and tested body transforming fitness principles to martial arts kicking techniques.  The focus here is moving away from practical self defense and toward an integrated fitness kicking program that strengthens and tones the muscle of the lower body and core and  improves dynamic flexibility and balance.   Proper form, that is, properly structured self defense technique,  is always stressed for safety reasons as well as to target various muscle groups more effectively.

What kicking has done for my fitness?

Kicking is a fantastic vehicle for improving health and fitness, and it offers benefits that one may have difficulty finding in other fitness arts or disciplines.  It offers dynamic strength, that is, functional strength in motion. It develops flexibility and explores the full range of movement the body is capable of.  Kicking also improves balance, coordination, and mind body unity.  And for those looking for a sexy lean physique, kicking burns a tremendous amount of calories in a short period of time.  And it strengthens and tones the thighs, glutes, and all of the muscles that make up your core.

While my passion for kicking stems from my passion for martial arts, there is no doubt that strong kicking skills and great fitness go hand in hand.  The art of kicking is a world unto itself, and has offered me a bottomless niche where I can explore my own fitness potential, keep myself limber yet powerful, and blow off steam with high intensity workouts that challenge me mentally and physically.  Kicking has been and continues to be a key component of my muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness training.

Who is fitness kicking appropriate for?

Fitness kicking is a great fitness option for anyone looking for unique and challenging fat burning workouts that combine form, function, and flexibility.
